Set in the Appalachian Mountains during the early 1900s, The Blue-Eyed Butterfly is based on a true, powerful story of survival. It was a time when women had no protection. No place to run to. But it's more than a story of survival. It's a tribute to the generations of women whose stories were never told.
Sharon Suskin is a retired nurse and author whose debut novel draws inspiration from the three women in The Blue-Eyed Butterfly with whom she shared her early life. Raised with a deep respect for others, she spent a generous portion of her career working with men and women who had lived long and with stories to tell. Now she continues to work through writing and speaking, with a mission to teach women of all ages how those before them found the courage to survive in a world that gave them no choice. She shares the real-life struggles of women who lived in the shadows of history and the fierce light they carried within. Sharon's passion for storytelling, women's empowerment, and generational healing continues to inspire readers and audiences alike. Currently living in North Carolina, she enjoys traveling, tap dancing, and connecting with women whose stories still need to be told.
